In 1985 the Seeds of Kilcranny House were sown. A small group of people volunteered their time and dedicated part of their life to developing the idea of having a residential centre based on a holistic approach to non-violence. This idea was originally created by the "Peace People" from Belfast who wanted to create a centre to which they could bring groups of all ages and backgrounds. In this centre they would run programmes based around three core elements: work, recreation and discussion. Kilcranny House was born.
We offer programmes, residential accommodation and meeting spaces to groups involved in discussing difficult issues in order to make our world a better place.
We strive to work inclusively, sharing our views of the future, with all members of our communities.
We explore our environment with integrity, finding-out different ways of living sustainably.
We practice non-violence as a way of life and as a way of changing our society for the better.
We learn about each other, share our stories, our differences and our cultures and learn to live as active members of our communities.
We ask ourselves questions and engage in conversations to create new ideas and possibilities of a better place to live.
We welcome everyone’s contribution to peace.
