Carolina Hurricanes:
Great news for Hurricanes fans! Jaccob Slavin is set to return from an upper-body injury and will be back on the ice against the Seattle Kraken this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Slavin has been sidelined for the past 10 games, since December 19th, and has only played in 5 games this season. He's also been selected for Team USA's roster for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. During the morning skate, he was paired with Jalen Chatfield. In other news, defenseman Joel Nystrom was reassigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Friday.
Toronto Maple Leafs:
Maple Leafs fans, rejoice! William Nylander is back in action after recovering from a lower-body injury. He'll be in the lineup against the Vancouver Canucks this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Nylander, who leads Toronto with 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) in 33 games, was injured on December 27th. Coach Craig Berube praised Nylander's skill and speed, highlighting his offensive contributions. Defenseman Jake McCabe, who missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, is also a game-time decision. Goalie Anthony Stolarz, who hasn't played since November 11th, is making progress and is expected to join the team on their upcoming road trip.
Florida Panthers:
Panthers fans, keep an eye on Brad Marchand. He participated in the morning skate and might return against the Senators this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Marchand has been day-to-day since leaving a game on Tuesday. He leads Florida with 46 points (23 goals, 23 assists) in 41 games this season.
San Jose Sharks:
Michael Misa could be back in the lineup when the Sharks host the Dallas Stars this Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. Misa, the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, recently represented Canada at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he had 7 points. He has 3 points in 7 games for San Jose. Will Smith is practicing in a non-contact jersey after an upper-body injury. John Klingberg, also practicing, will not play Saturday.
Philadelphia Flyers:
Flyers forwards Travis Konecny and Bobby Brink are questionable for Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 p.m. ET. Konecny sustained an upper-body injury and has 38 points in 42 games. Brink, who also has an upper-body injury, has 20 points in 41 games. Jamie Drysdale was placed on injured reserve, and Adam Ginning was recalled from the AHL.
New York Rangers:
Noah Laba may return from an upper-body injury against the Boston Bruins this Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Laba has 12 points in 42 games this season. Justin Dowling was reassigned to the AHL.
